Vegan Mett ??! 🤔
Yes this is possible and is also super tasty and quickly made.
What you need
- 50 g rice waffles (half pack)
- 2 small onions
- 150-175 ml of water
- 2-3 tablespoon tomato paste
- salt & pepper
- Pepper Cream (Optional)
- Paprika Powder (Optional)
- Minced meat / Hackepeter spice (Optional)
First the rice wafers are crumbled and put into a bowl. Then pour the water into the bowl and leave everything to rest for 2-3 minutes.
In the meantime, the onions are peeled and minced. Once done, add the onions with the spices and tomato paste to the rice cakes in the bowl.
The entire mass is then kneaded with a fork (or a potato masher) and mixed until a uniformly colored mass is formed.
If the "Mett" is still too light for you, you can simply add some tomato paste.

Mix well until a uniform mixture is obtained. If the "Mett" is still too light, add more tomato paste.
Finally, let everything cool and let it pass well (Min. 5h)
This recipe should simply be seen as a basic variant in which the spices can be adapted to your taste.
